Egg Show Classes
Due to the massive increase in domestic chicken keeping, Mirfield Family Agricultural Show will have a new Egg Show Section for 2011. There are fifteen classes on the schedule across hen, duck and bantam, including classes for juniors.
The egg show marquee opens at 9.00am, with staging until 10.30am and judging from 11.00am. Once judging is completed the exhibits and winners will be made available for public viewing until 4pm, when prize money will be awarded. All exhibits must be removed by 5pm.
Temporary drop off area is available near the Horticultural tent, however all cars must be removed to the exhibitors car park by 10.30am.
Mirfield Family Agricultural Show is unique in the Yorkshire egg show calendar of events because as well as having a strong agricultural and class heritage, it encourages children to get involved to make it a fantastic family day out.
Egg Show Classes
1. 3 White or Cream Hen eggs
2. 3 Dark Brown, Light Brown or Tinted Hen eggs
3. 3 Hen eggs – any other colour
4. Supreme Hen egg – any colour
5. 3 White or Cream Bantam eggs
6. 3 Dark Brown, Light Brown or Tinted Bantam eggs
7. 3 Bantam eggs – any other colour
8. Supreme Bantam egg – any colour
9. Three Duck eggs
10. One Supreme Duck egg
11. One Decorated egg – open age
12. Contents 1 Hen egg – to be judged on contents only
13. Contents 1 Bantam egg – to be judged on contents only
Juniors (15 years and under)
14. 3 Hen eggs – any colour
15. 3 Bantam eggs – any colour
Please note MAXIMUM weight of a Bantam egg is 1.5 ounces
Egg Show Rules:
1. Entry fee is 50p per plate for adults and FREE for Juniors (15 years and under). 2. Prize money and prize cards will be awarded to 3rd place, special rosettes also to be awarded. 4. Closing date for entries is 10th August 2011. 5. Mirfield Agricultural Show Society, its staff or any person relating to the Society can not take any responsibility for any loss or damage caused to people, animals or property whilst on the Showground. 6. The Committee reserves the right to alter or amend the schedule if necessary. 7. The Judges decision is final.
