Tug of War Competition
Details of the Show Tug-of-War Competition for 2012 will be posted here once confirmed.
Do you have a team to pull the reigning Mirfield Show Tug of War champions out of the ring ? The Mirfield Show Tug-of-War Competition is one of the most popular spectator competitions on showday and attracts participants from all across Yorkshire. The main ring event usually starts around 1.30pm with the heats and finishes about 4pm after the final. The childrens event starts around 12.30pm in the second ring (in the school grounds) and finishes about 1.30pm. There are usually four or eight teams competing with rosettes and a trophy for all winners.
All tug-of-war entries registrations must be made by Registration Form and the closing date for all entry registrations is Sunday 12th August 2012 – and may be sooner if fully booked. There may be space available on show day for your team, but there is no guarantee if eight teams have already subscribed in advance. It is free to enter for all adults and children. Entries must be returned to Ramsdens Butchers in Mirfield or via classes-and-competitions@mirfieldshow.com.
Mirfield Family Agricultural Show is unique in the Yorkshire county show calendar of events because as well as having a strong agricultural heritage, it encourages children to get involved to make it a fantastic family day out.
