Volunteers needed on show weekend.
The Mirfield Show is a fantastic family day out and great fun for everyone who attends. But the day cannot happen without the generous help of volunteers who make the day run smoothly. This year we are down on volunteers and need the lovely people of Mirfield to come give us a hand.
Not available all day? No worries. Even if you can spare just a few hours we’d really like to hear from you. There’s lots of ways you can help out from setting up the showground on Saturday, to helping out during the Show, or staying behind for a couple of hours at the end on Sunday to help clear up and pack away.
There’s lots of different volunteer roles for all ages from litter picking, welcoming and directing visitors, setting up tables and chairs, helping with competitions and classes and been part of the clean-up crew. As long as you are enthusiastic and willing to get stuck in we’d love to hear from you.
There’s no such thing as a free lunch. There is at the Mirfield Show.
The fun starts on Saturday during the pre-show set up all volunteers get treated to a free fish and chips lunch. On show day you will get entry to the show with the chance to wander round and enjoy the attractions and a lunch voucher so you can take your pick of the wide range of delicious food choices available. Plus you’ll feel awesome by helping out with your local community event.
Karen Bullivant, chairperson comments: “Mirfield Show is a family show run by a family of volunteers. Our committee members work throughout the year to put the show together but we need the generous help of volunteers on the day to help make the show run smoothly. It’s a long couple of days during show weekend but lots of fun with a great group of people, and many hands make light work. I’d urge anyone interested in volunteering to get in touch to find out more.”
