This week Mirfield Show officially announced its line-up for Sunday 21st August with the emphasis on something new that you are unlikely to have seen anywhere around locally before.

Show chair, Karen Bullivant, said “Last year was great success with visitors coming from all across the region – and so this year we have been able to organise some amazing new attractions, yet keep it a great value family day out – and it is still possible for every child to come to Mirfield Show and it cost them absolutely nothing. It remains free entrance for children, they can they can bring along their own refreshments, they can see a wide range of exciting attractions across the showground, and they can get involved with archery, play on the fun beach, visit the animal displays, watch the puppet shows, climb the climbing wall, or join in the welly wanging – all for free.”

Mirfield Show welcomes, for the first time, the Air Tattoo Helicopter Display Team, who will be dropping in to entertain the crowds with their amazing display. Formed in 1999 to bring together the Royal Navy, Army and Air Force under one command, it operates 239 aircraft including the Sea King, Lynx, Chinook, Puma, Merlin, Apache, Gazelle and Bell 212 helicopters – one of which will be used on the day. This will be followed by a display in the main ring by the team themselves.

Also brand new for this year is the Black Rock Llama Display Team – a truly unique, exciting, action packed display which you are unlikely to have ever seen before. Watch an action packed, fun, crowd entertaining display which gives an insight into the fascinating world of Llamas. You will be thrilled as the elegant llamas, each with their own racing colours negotiate an obstacle course including jumps, slalom pole, limbo poles and even tunnels, and each llama will be assisted by a member of the crowd in their bid to become supreme llama agility champion – so expect lots of audience participation.

There will also be even more Competitions & Classes to see or get involved with at Mirfield Show this year - whether it is the Horse or Dog Shows, the Flower, Vegetable, Childrens, Domestic or Rabbit Classes, the Children’s Races or Welly Wanging, the Scarecrow or Colouring Competitions, the Children's Fancy Dress, the Bushtucker or Banana Eating Challenges, the Baby Show or the very popular Rabbit Jumping trials.
