Put it in your Diary...
Preparations are well under way for the 2011 Mirfield Show, which will take place on Sunday 21st August at The Showground in Mirfield.
Committee Chair, Karen Bullivant, said “Last year the public came out in their thousands to support their local show and enjoyed a wide range of competitions and attractions including the Royal Artillery Parachute Team and the Kangaroo Gymnastics Display Team. This year we are continuing to plan several new free and low-cost competitions and attractions for the whole family plus as usual, entry will remain free for children.”
President
Mirfield Agricultural Show Society are also please to announce that Chris Ramsden has been voted to be Show President – a new position to thank those who have given many years of service and support to the show and who have been – and continue to be - great ambassadors for Mirfield and the show. The official presentation will be held on the afternoon of show day.
Stalls
Outdoor charity and trade stands are an important part of Mirfield Show and are a great opportunity for local businesses and charities to raise their profile and funds. However, this year the allocation policy has had to change due to the last two years being heavily over subscribed with only a limited space available. So, if you are considering an outdoor trade or charity stall at this year’s show, all applications must be submitted before Friday March 25th with the final allocations based on innovative stalls, local businesses and charities, and what the applicant will add to the show experience. To support local businesses, any applicant with a WF14 postcode will also be eligible for a 25% discount. Craft stalls will continue to be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. For full details please visit the website or email stalls-and-attractions@mirfieldshow.com.

Many people don't realise that Mirfield Show is organised by a team of local volunteers for the benefit of Mirfield and its inhabitants on a not-for-profit basis – and to be able to continue to do this, the team are always on the look out for new members and day-volunteers. If you are able to help out, or wish to advertise in the show programme, or are interested in one of the sponsorship packages, e-mail info@mirfieldshow.com or visit www.mirfieldshow.com for more details.
